Hi, would have one practical question in regards of my frequent problems with respect of agreed laycan. If anybody could help me, I would appreciate that. I'm struggling with the problem when vessel arrive to the port of loading later then booked laycan.(which affect of course ETA to the final destination) I know that I have a right to cancel the booking once the actual eta pol is out of teh booked laycan but abviously there is no vessel in the same position or earlier than the vessel that I have to wait for or that I booked. Any suggestions? Thanks

Late arrival of vessel. Unfortunately, nobody has control over such late arrival as it is caused by several factors. Charterers are put in a very embarrassing situation at that time. The only suggestion is to look for alternative (nearby) vessels well in advance. Or try to negotiate the agreed terms with the Owners like compensation of late arrival, etc. In any case, it is very difficult to hold the Owners legally liable for this unless Charterers can prove that the vessel arrived late because of Owner's lack.

Reversible laytime is simply applying the time saved at the port of loading (PoL) to the port of discharge (PoD). Some CPs agree for despatch in lieu of such time saved at PoL and some agree to apply it at PoD, especially when there is demurrage at the PoD. Eg., Time Saved at the PoL: 3h7m. Time Lost at the PoD: 8hrs10min. Net time lost: 8h10m-3h7m=5h3m. Trust your question clarified.
